Yes. Burial at sea is legal when handled under EPA rules. For cremated remains, scattering is performed at least 3 nautical miles from shore. We manage the required compliance steps for each service.

Sea scattering is conducted approximately 3 nautical miles offshore in accordance with federal requirements. This ensures compliance with EPA guidelines while providing a meaningful setting for the ceremony.

With an attended service, family members (up to 6 passengers) are present on the boat during the scattering. With an unattended service, the captain performs the ceremony respectfully on the family’s behalf. Both include GPS coordinates, a certificate, and EPA filing.

Yes. We accept shipped remains from anywhere in the United States via our free USPS Priority Mail Express shipping kit. Many families who choose our unattended service live out of state.
